On Wednesday, August 21,2024 Morehead Police Department along with law enforcement agencies throughout the Commonwealth, attended the Annual Governor’s Occupant Protection Enforcement Awards at The Campbell House in Lexington, KY. This annual event is hosted by The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Office of Highway Safety. This ceremony recognizes law enforcement efforts to keep roadways safe.

This year we are happy to announce, that Morehead Police Department’s Patrolman Jon Cottle was recognized as this agency’s recipient of the Governor’s Award for Life Saving Achievement in Reducing Highway Fatalities and Injuries. This award is given to an Officer in each local agency here in the Commonwealth.

Morehead Police Department was also honored to have Former Chief of Police and current Patrolman, Mike Adams give the invocation and the opening remarks at today’s ceremony.
