Opportunity for Rowan County Girls in Grades 5th-12th!

Young women grades 5th-12th here in Rowan County have the opportunity to participate in a series of writing workshops. This program “Appalachia Girl Dreaming” is part of the Why We Write organization.

Participants can receive a $400 scholarship that will cover the costs of this new and unique writing program. Students will learn exciting stories of women who have made a difference in the Appalachian region. Workshops are geared towards both beginning and experienced writers.

Workshop Details:

  • 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on 4 Saturdays.
  • September 7, October 5, November 2, and December 7 at the Rowan County Public Library.
