Now Hiring: Full-Time Firefighter

The City of Morehead is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter. This position is responsible for the protection of life and property through fire suppression, prevention, and emergency response services.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Responding to fires, disasters, and other emergency incidents
  • Providing emergency medical care
  • Maintaining firefighting equipment, vehicles, stations, and living quarters

Work Schedule:
24 hours on duty, followed by 48 hours off duty

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 19 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license from the current state of residence
  • Possession of a current CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) certification before an offer of employment is made

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified professional firefighter with 300 hours of training in accordance with the Kentucky Fire Commission
  • Kentucky Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
  • IFSAC Firefighter I & II certification
